Dr Chris Hrycek graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2011 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He commenced training in General Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, having worked at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, and with Drug and Alcohol Services of South Australia. He commenced dual training in Gastroenterology in 2017 at Flinders Medical Centre and was awarded his fellowship in 2020. He now works as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician at Flinders Private.
Born and raised in the Clare Valley, Dr Hrycek has a strong interest in rural medicine. In his training he worked at the Mildura Base Hospital as well as in Alice Springs. He also has an interest in inflammatory bowel disease, general gastroenterology, endoscopy/colonoscopy, hepatology and the management of chronic liver disease.
