Co-ordinated Supportive Care for Patients with Crohn’s and Colitis
Inflammatory bowel disease is a chronic condition affecting all ages, although more predominantly being diagnosed at a young age. It is a lifelong condition that can not yet be controlled, but the aim of treatment is to achieve remission or control of the disease so patients can have a normal life.
There are many ways in which Crohn’s and Colitis can be managed. These include medications, diet as well as maintaining good mental health. A supportive environment for the patient is critical, so within SA Group of Specialists we have designed a service that aims to achieve this.
Gastroenterologists within SA Group of Specialists are all trained in the management of Crohn’s and Colitis. The following specialists have a particular interest in this area, either through appointments at IBD Clinics at the RAH or FMC, or through involvement in the IBD Service of SA Group of Specialists

- Laurie Chitti (Western Rooms)
